Evans made 48 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring six goals, and his experience, professionalism, and influence around the dressing room have made him a natural choice to lead the side. The striker has played extensively across the EFL for clubs including Preston, Sheffield United, and Chesterfield. He also brings a strong connection to Fleetwood, having made 148 appearances in red and white across his two spells with the club. Since returning to Highbury, Evans has set high standards both on and off the pitch. His leadership and continued determination to perform at this level were key factors in Matt Lawlor’s decision to hand him the captaincy.
